You are supposed to ingest food, which is the source of the body’s fuel in regular amounts so that your body can access energy whenever it wants it. Should your body lack in fuel (energy), then it automatically initiates a go-slow on metabolism to take care of dwindling reserves of energy. This means that it will store energy in form of fat, until your eating habits stabilize. The best strategy is to eat regular small portions of food throughout the day.
